Wussful thinking

We are surrounded by examples of absurdities.
1) NATO captures pirates but lets them go because "NATO doesn't have a policy about detainment and the pirates aren't Dutch."
2) Obama smiles and shakes hands with Chavez and takes as a gift a book detailing the transgressions of America and Europe in South America.
3) Obama makes a deep obeisance to the Guardian of the Two Shrines, the outstanding figure in the Islamic world.
4) Obama carries out his undertaking to abandon the U.S. position as the "sole superpower." What he is going to do when China establishes ITSELF as a SUPERPOWER is not known but he probably hasn't thought of that and might not care when he does.
5) Treasury pressures GM bondholders but throws more money at the situation because bankruptcy might disturb the UAW's sweetheart contracts.
6) Obama disses the U.K. ( and prepares to subvehiculate Israel -- the most creative thing about the Obama tenure is the invention of a verb for his treatment of his grandmother, Reverend Wright and others) while disheartening rebels against Chavez, Castro and the mullahs of Iran in the process of cozying up to a complete set of tyrants without demanding any change in their behavior, even to their own people.
7) Obama's appointments are remarkable for either the lack of vetting for tax evasion or other corruption ( another appointee, the car czar, is under scrutiny )or because they represent viewpoints antithetical to his oath to preserve and protect the Constitution ( e.g. the transnational Harold Koh or the radical appointed as counsel to be privy to the secrets of the Defense Department.)
