Obama's environuts retard nuclear power in the U.S. but we push it in...Arab countries?

ABU DHABI -- The mating of the words "nuclear" and "Persian Gulf" normally sets off alarm bells in Washington. Yet this oil-rich Arab state just across the gulf from Iran is on a crash course to develop nuclear power with U.S. backing...

I especially like this part:

Nonnuclear options, such as coal-fired plants, solar energy or alternative fuels, were seen either as insufficient to meet demand, too expensive or harmful to the environment."Nuclear power was seen both as practical and clean," says ...

****Don't get me wrong: I'm a strong advocate of nuclear power (like our nuclear navy, France, Japan,...) and think it was merely the accident of The China Syndrome appearing near the time of Three Mile Island that caused this psychological impediment to progress. However, the hypocrisy of making these arguments for others while pretending they don't apply at home is insufferable.
