Why should the PA be anything but intransigent with a "friendly" Obama in office?

PA: New U.S. Administration "One of the Friendliest in Decades" - Khaled Abu Toameh (Jerusalem Post)PA officials expressed deep satisfaction with talks on Wednesday with U.S. envoy George Mitchell, saying the new Obama administration was "one of the friendliest in decades." Chief PA negotiator Saeb Erekat quoted Mitchell as saying that the Obama administration wanted a quick start and a quick end to the peace talks.
During the meeting, the PA leaders reiterated their refusal to accept Israel as a Jewish state.
***The statement that a Palestinian state is inevitable confuses the difference between a necessary and sufficient condition. For proper disposition of the Palestinian "problem", a separate state (albeit one without the ability to threaten its neighbors) must be necessary but it is hardly sufficient since necessary predicates include eschewal of cradle-to-grave incitement, institution of proper governmental structures to manage a state without outside assistance, adherence by a majority of Palestinians to principles of peace, mutual recognition, forswearing of terror and various things that would require generations to implement after starting, which they have not yet begun to do.An elephant requires 24 months for gestation and birth; to try to produce a baby elephant after a month results only in a horrifying abortion. For Obama to try to force a birth before its time is nonsensical in the extreme.****
