It's one thing to defend your friends uncritically but another to attack others uncritically.

****We know that the President has defended Rev. Wright (until he could no longer deny the obvious ), Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi and others (more than his white grandmother whom he was quite willing to "throw under the bus" when the chance arose to recount white bias against blacks.)Obama jumps in with a judgment about the Gates affair in Cambridge, quickly taking sides when his lack of knowledge might counsel caution and the subsequent facts might indicate at least equal indiscretion and "stupidity" on the part of Gates. One might even wonder if being arrested in the midst of tumult did not serve the personal interests of a publicity-loving professor of African-American Studies.Evidently a Boston columnist thinks the same.****http://tinyurl.com/lmr3l7

Obama 'stupidly' comment disappoints Mass. cop
Police report seems plausible and is likely accurate since the authors realized what they reported would be widely scrutinized.

It seems that the credibility of the policeman relative to Gates is yet higher:http://tinyurl.com/mg52db
