The narcissistic personality, as elucidated BEFORE the election. Prescient in light of what happened after?

An article has been circulating that, according to Snopes, is a conflation of two articles, one by a PhD in philosophy who has written extensively on narcissism and the other by a pseudonymous apostate Muslim. The first:

The second:

Seeing someone appear on television (it seems) almost every day, hearing profound-sounding shallowness using every fake rhetorical trick in the book but ultimately winding up with "trust me", makes these analyses plausible and harks back to frightening predecessors. Add to this the cheerful sub-vehiculation of Rev. Wright ( at least in public ) and his grandmother and the equally cheerful belief that his golden words can turn around Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong Il and probably the whole jihadi world ( if he hadn't banned the term jihadi!)and one can at least wonder if the shoe fits for the President even more appropriately than for the more usual (very) narcissistic politician, like Bill Clinton.
